
Physical and Digital Sculpture Workshop
Over 2 days, this workshop will explore digital and analogue sculptural process combining hand stone carving techniques and the digital processes for 3D modeling
Each day will be split into 2 sessions:
- Mornings – creating a stone relief carving with Claudia Dietz
- Afternoons -learning digital and 3D modeling processes including Virtual Reality sculpting, full body motion capture with Sumit Sarkar
The aim is for each participant to learn or develop their skills by using a combination of practical and digital methods to create work including
- Learning stone relief carving techniques
- Using technology to produce digital sculpture, navigate a 3D space and basic animation processes
Everyone will have a chance to complete a stone carved relief and a digital model of their creations, with a print of their 3D sculpture.
All tools and materials are provided but participants will need to bring their own computer/ laptop and mouse.
